I am getting ready to install a Matrix 1.3x (I know it's a couple years old. Bought it for another car to replace a crappy alarm, and sat in my garage ever since) and would like to setup a 529T that I am going to purchase to do 2 things:
1. Allow putting the convertible top down (and up) using AUX2 input
2. Putting top up when arming

I think the installation of the 529T to AUX2 is pretty straightforward... Hook the pulsed negative output from AUX2 to put top down (WHITE/ Green on 529T), and the negative door lock output (and AUX2 neg output with diodes to separate current) to put the top up.

Here's the big question... Does anyone have the wiring diagrams for a 2004 Z4 (incl. power convertible top) that diagrams the polarities and at-rest polarities for the top?

Driver door loom cables at kickwell, blue/red and WHITE/ black, NEG (-) lock and unlock, attach the aux 1 to lock wire directly, timed for 2 seconds longer than it takes to close the roof via the switch. Or if available via comfort close.
Notes:-
a)You won't need any add on closer.
b)The above wires are the correct place for lock and unlock.
c)Be extremely careful when accessing those wires, the awful fabric insulating tape is a PITA to get rid of and the wires are very thin.
d)Ideally you need access to a Bitwriter to set the timing.

As an addendum, I don't have access to that model's wiring specs. BUT, motor wires exit the m/function module behind the glovebox. as blue and black primary colours

Thanks for the info Howie. You always seem to have valuable information for everyone install. Great stuff!!

I think you are assuming that there is a single-button Up/Down feature for the convertible top... there isn't. I have to hold the "Top Down" button for about 12-15 seconds for the top down process to complete.

I know I could probably wire AUX1 alarm output to top down (using a relay or course, and setting the timer for 20 sec), and AUX2 to the arm trigger with also a delay of 20 sec, but I believe the polarity of the convertible top motors changes polarity.

I know I can sit there for a couple hours determining what exactly is at rest, and what polarity is when the motors are in operation, but was really hoping someone would have the wiring diagrams from directed.

Those wiring diagrams are priceless!!

Those switches are either data or low current and the ignition needs to be on.
In effect your answer is going around the houses.
You can apply aux 2 to the unlock to bring down the roof but that will also unlock the car.
I'd also bet that when it comes to window close Directwire will tell you my first post.
