The graph below says the purple / YELLOW wire is the alarm disarm wire. Do I cut the wire when found? Do I ground it? Which side do I ground after cutting, the ECM side or the alarm unit side?

I bought this Jeep about 2 years ago from the original owner. The interior lights and electric door locks didnt work. While looking for the problem, I found the alarm box was mostly unplugged. I didnt even know it had a factory alarm. After hooking it all up, the locks and lighting works. But, the alarm now comes on whenever it wants and doesnt turn off until it wants. The key does nothing to turn it off and there is no fob. Trying to disable the alarm while keeping everything else working.

That is a common problem on those vehicles. Just Ground that wire and the alarm will never come back on. No need to cut it, strip back the insulation and solder a wire to it and ground the other end of the new wire.

Naturally there is not a purple / YELLOW wire where is supposed to be....lol.

Looked through all the harness behind the drivers side kick panel. Read somewhere it was in the harness going to the door, but not there either.

Any idea where this plugs into the ECM; might be easier there.
