I have the vehicle described with the basic CD/sirius radio with a sync issue. Been told the sync module is toast. Can i just buy one from a salvage yard matching the same year and model and replace it and I'm done. Our does it need to be programmed by a dealer to work.

Thanks

This should be covered by warranty! The module should be registered with the system, which requires the dealer to do.

I've been told to try to reset the module by unplugging it for an hour and then plugging it back in I was told it's on the passenger side kick panel but the only one I can find is on the floor on the passenger side and it has two plugs I believe a black one and a brown one but it does not look like any sync module that I have seen online any idea if this is it it is a 2016 F250 Super Duty Crew Cab

On a vehicle this new you should be at the dealer telling them to fix it which will be replacing it as it shouldn't need to be disconnected to reset it unless there is something wrong with it to begin with. Probably needs a software update or the module it's self replaced.

I understand that but I am gone 7 days a week while driving the truck itself and I do not have time to stop at a dealer for all day to get it checked over I would like to try a reset first so do you have any idea where the module is located

Could be behind carpet or higher up on the kick which will require removing the lower dash panel to get to it. otherwise it's in the center console from what I can find. It a about a $800 warranty claim to replace it.

Any ford dealer should be able to do the work, it's not required to go the place of purchase to get it fixed.
