I am trying to help a friend put new gauges in his dodge ram 1500 and i need to know what color wire to hook up the 12v wire to. It should be the wire that provides the instrument cluster with power and get power when the instrument cluster is illuminated. Thanks. Anyone know what color the wire is and where it is located. Thanks for the help.

get it from the parking light wire, black with yellow, of you can get the dimmer wire, not sure of the color tho? you can get parking lights at the switch or sometimes in the loom w/ the main ignition harness.. good luck, eric
