Hey all. Today I installed a remote starter on my 1995 Dodge Neon. It is a used unit I pulled from another vehicle. Everything works fine except the starter runs on after the car starts until I tap the brake to shut the car off. I have the tach sense wire in the right place. If I start the car with the remote and then attach the tach wire, the starter kicks out and everything works as it should. I've installed a few starters but this one has thrown me for a curve. The manufacturer does not provide installation instructions or literature to the end user. I have no idea if the starter is set up for tach sense or voltage sense monitoring. There are 9 dip switches but no indication what the settings are. The unit is an AstroFlex model 500. I'm guessing it is about 10 years old. Thanx all and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you learn the tach signal off the car to the AstroFlex unit ?

Hey we install astro but not back then I can get the info from work for ya its just a simple programming with some of the 9 dip switches ...and your done. If you still need help I think we have a data base in our computer for that reply to this post and i'll keep checking on it to see if you need help... Its just your tach setting is too low or high one or the two I think its too high... Do you have a tach sense tester? can you get me a reading off the wire you're using what rpm and amount of cylinders... -------------

i have an astroflex RS-113 form a friends the instruction on the back of the main unit it's not really clear, can someone please help me with the wiring?, or if you have the manual that would be great, thank in advance P.S: going to put it on an Accord 95 AT
