Does anyone have any alarm/remote start tips for a 2002 CR-V? I'm having trouble finding the tach wire. Removing the cluster is not an easy job.

Vehicle Wiring Information

for the

Honda CR-V 2002

ITEM WIRE COLOR POL WIRE LOCATION

12 VOLTS : white [ + ] ignition harness

STARTER 1 : BLACK/ white [ + ] ignition harness

IGNITION 1 : BLACK / YELLOW [ + ] ignition harness

ACCESSORY 1 : WHITE/ red [ + ] ignition harness

ACCESSORY 2 : BLACK/ red [ + ] ignition harness

POWER LOCK : WHITE/ blue [ - ] DKP harness coming

POWER UNLOCK : WHITE/ green [ - ] from the door or *1

PARKING LIGHT (+) :

PARKING LIGHT (-) : blue slv dots *1

TRUNK/HATCH PIN : [ - ]

TRNK/HTCH RELEASE : BLACK / YELLOW [ - ] DKP harness to rear

TACHOMETER : blue [ ac ] *2

BRAKE WIRE : [ + ] at brake switch

HORN TRIGGER : orange [ - ] steering column

NOTE :

This vehicle is factory equip with immobilizer system, use 555U interface

*1 Located at theft alarm plug green plug , left side of steering column

*2 Located at diagnstic connector between fusebox and battery

Thank you for the chart. I got one before that must have been for the 1st generation CR-V. Most of the color codes were wrong.

2nd Question. I confirmed all of my connections, and I'm sure I did not short anything while doing the work. The problem is the Check engine light is now on. I tried reseting the ECU, but the light comes back on about 20 sec. after I start it. Any thoughts. What could I have broken????

probably the bypass!

it comes one when you start it with the starter?

It comes on all the time. Even if I disconect the bypass, and start the car with the key. I figure I'll have to take it to a dealer to check the codes, but I'd like to try and correct it first. Maybe the O2 sensor just happened to go at the same time.
