Notes:
NOTE: This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system that, when adding a remote start *1 The engine harness is found next to the battery, below the radiator hose, just above the transaxle.   *2 Non keyless cars, locks are 5wi (type C) and they are mastered from the passenger side switch. Keyless cars, locks are positive trigger (type A). Also found at BCM.  *3 The GREEN/ black is located in the lower drivers kick panel. It catches the drivers door only. The light blue is located in the lower passenger kick panel, and catches the passenger door(s). Tap both wires and diode isolate each. Also found at BCM.  *4 The BCM is located to the left of the steering column above the kick panel.

Most Chevy has a second ignition wire of WHITE. If the car starts but doesn't stay running it is because of the Passlock II system not being bypassed effectively. To test if the car has Passlock, go to the local hardware store and get a key blank cut and try to start the car. If it starts then no Passlock.... if it doesn't start then it has Passlock. The key blank costs $ 1.00 or less.

The 03 cavs are just like the 02's, Passlock 2 needs to be bypassed. There is no chip in the key for passlock 2, pk3 and vats have a "chip" in the key. Passlock sends the r code to the bcm when the key is turned in the cylinder. Need a 555L or pldata to bypass it.

I suggest purcahsing a bypass module forthis type of system. Temperature variations can cause resistor chages in the DIY bypass modules that will not allow the car to start. The learning modules that we sell compensates for temperature variants and gives accurate resistor values to the Passlock computer everytime you RS the car.
