Hello.

I was just wondering if anyone has any information about which protocol to use when communicating with the on-board diagnostics for a 2005 Crown Victoria.

Thanks!

It's probably J1850 PWM (44kHz).

We have already tried using the J1850 protocol, and it works fine with the 2004 and earlier models. Do you have any other suggestions???

Thanks!

It's probably been changed to CAN. Google turrned up a mention on this vehicle <https://www.roadsafety.com/teen_techspecs.php#> that it's no longer OBD-II. If you can get me a photo of the data plug I can tell you for certain which protocol it uses.

Correct. The hardware interface was switched to CAN. Do you have any ideas on the high-level protocol? I'm hoping that the 2005 models still use J1979.

Thanks!
