Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has first hand knowledge of where there is a free grommet in my 1999 Accord's firewall. I'm trying to wire my amp with 8G but cannot find one. I've read through some posts saying that they just pulled out the main fuse box in the engine compartment and piggybacked the grommet/harness below it, but I'd rather run it through a 'blank' one if possible. I'm going to be upgrading eventually and would like a free one so that I don't have to go messing with that wiring harness all over again. Also, I would prefer not to drill since I'm rather new at this and would surely drill through something important.
Any help you can offer is much appreciated.
Thank you.

Look above the accelorator pedal for a black plastic plug or use the boot that has the wires running from the engine into the driver's side cab as your firewall passthrough point.

Ok so it turns out that there is a free grommet.
There is a canister just below and to thr right of the main fuse box in the engine compartment. right by the top of it is a grommet that I thought didn't go through.

I was wrong.

I pulled out the grommet and ripped out some of the padding and cut the insulation behind it. After that I was able to push the cable through until I could grab it on the other side.

Yay!
