Installing remote start on an 06 Torrent. Need wiring diagram. No data module available for locks for this yet.

Is there a good internet source for current diagrams? Subsciption or otherwise?

Thanks, Larry

Here's the wiring diagram. I haven't done one myself so unfortunately this is the most help I can give you.  If you have any specific questions, ask them here and maybe someone else can answer them for you.  Good Luck, Frank

Thanks flobee4. I am a bit concerned about the factory alarm. I am afraid ithe remote start will set it off. I was hoping I could find a data mod that would do it. I haven't yet. There is a data bypass for the imobilizer only. Guess I will have to try it

You know, I recently did a saturn that the wiring diagram also said it only disarmed with the remotes.  But, I found that not to be true.  I rolled down the window on the drivers side and I set the alarm.  I waited until the alarm set(about 1 minute), then I reached in the window and used the interior handle to open the door.  when the alarm started sounding,  I placed the key in the ignition  and turned it to the run position(I did not attempt to start the car, just turned the key.)  The alarm stopped sounding, so I knew if I duplicated what I had just done with the key, I could turn off the alarm with the remote starter.

If that works for this car also, this is what needs to be powered when unlocking - Ignition, keysense and passlock bypass.

So, since the keysense and passlock will  already be wired to your ignition 3 output or status output(diode isolated from each other of coarse) I took the disarm wire off the remote starter and split in 2 using diodes(to isolate)  and tapped 1 into the the ignition 3 output or status output wire before the 2 diodes on that wire, and the other I went to a relay to power up the ignition wire.

This will power up the ignition, keysense, and ignition wire when unlocking(for about a second), as well as automaticaly when remote starting, as a result disarming the system posted_image

If you don't understand or have any questions, just ask, I'll try to answer as fast as I can.  But before you ask see if turning the ignition with the key turns off the alarm, post those results and I'll help you with the rest of the wiring to disarm if needed.

Thanks again flobee4.

That was my concern with the alarm. I will try and see what results I get. I have seen many that disarm with the drivers unlock but this must use the passkey as a second dissarm method. I will let you know when I get it back in..

Thanks, Larry

Of courese as I think about it will the data module be able to do it or not. I may need the keysense and the old fashioned bypass to duplicate the key?

I usually use 2 relays and a resistor to bypass the passlock myself(and I did in the specific case I was talking about), but if you use a bypass module like the 556L by dei or  PLJX by bypasskit.com, it should still work to disarm.  Those units only learn the resistance in the key cylinder and duplicates them on demand.  The disarm wire will cause the keysense, ignition and the bypass module to send its resistance code, if you wire it as above.

I also know what you mean about disarming the car using the drivers unlock. That won't work on that car, thats why they don't list a disarm wire and also why it says"disarms with remote only" So I can guarentee there is no such disarm wire like that in that car.  But imagine this:  You leave your car and arm the alarm, as your out you drop your keys in a puddle.  You come back and now the remote doesn't work.  Do you really think GM is going to let you be stuck out there(maybe)  but if you get in the car with the alarm going off and the car "see's" what it needs, the alarm will disarm and allow it to start. Thats why I'm pretty sure when you test the alarm you will find that just simply turning the key in the ignition will disarm the alarm.
