I have attempted to install an Autopage CPX-RS2 remote starter on a 2001 Sentra I just acquired. i do not think it has a transponder type of anti-theft system since I have cut basic/regular duplicate keys that start the car. I therefore ignored the installation of any bypass module (I do have a Bulldog 791 Bypass module, just in case). But the remote start did not work. At this time, my installation is very basic - connections were made to (a) constant 12V, (b) start (joining both BLACK/ white and BLACK / YELLOW wires together), (c) Ignition 1 (d) Ignition 2 (e) brake light (f) park-light. Am I missing something? Grateful for any assistance.

Un-pair those 2 starter wires.....you'll have trouble if you don't Draws too much current. And an eratic idle problem. Use a relay.

My info says only 1 ign. wire? blk/red

12 VOLTS WHITE/ red Ignition harness   +
IGNITION BLACK/ red Ignition harness   +
 ACCESSORY White Ignition harness   +
STARTER BLACK/ white Ignition harness   +
STARTER 2 BLACK / YELLOW Ignition harness   +

I'm assuming that it's a manual transmission vehicle since you hooked up the hand brake ? If so what did you do to bypass the clutch ? If not, then where is your foot brake connection and also your tach connection ?

Thanks for this advice. I will use that relay here. And about the ignition wire - you're right. My typo error. Will be correcting this hook-up soon and giving some feed-back. Thanks!

Actually it is an automatic car and what I hook-up was the brake pedal/light switch so that the engine shuts down when it is depressed. Thanks for your feedback. Will post my results soon.
