Hi there. I have a problem that is doing my head in and hope there is a 12V king on this site.

I have a OEM DVD Sat Nav/CD player from a 2002 Honda CRV and want to put this into a 1994 Honda Prelude. However, I am not accustomed with the wiring diagrams of each. I was hoping if anyone could help with this.

Also, i was told that the DVD player for the sat nav will not play dvd's at all! I wondered if there was a wire or switch that could remedy this.

Finally, on the wiring loom supplied with the sat nav unit, there is a blue/white wire and a solid green wire. Does anyone have any idea what these are for. I think that one of these is for the speed pulse/meter but I do not know where to connect this in the honda prelude (with cruise control -will this help). I do not know what the green one is for (maybe something to do with the dvd player). I would really appreciate any help that anyone can give me at all please.

Do you have the wiring diagram for the navigation unit? Also nav units will not play a dvd it is strictly for mapping.

Yes thats true. Ive pretty much wired it in now from trial and error. However, i dont know what the green wire is for that comes with the harness. It is supposed to be crimped onto the GREEN/ blk wire on the vehicles 18 pin connector that goes into the crv fuse box.

My main concern is trying to get the dvd player to work. I know that they are made for sat nav only but there must be a way no?

Did you hook up a reverse wire yet? And as far as I am aware that unit is only programmed to read dvd-roms, it won't play dvd movies.

Hmm, thats a good point, I havent hooked up a reverse wire anywhere. Is that necessary? Could that be what the green wire is for?

Most nav units do not track with gps all of the time. Most will acquire the position at startup and then switch over to "dead reckoning". When this happens it uses a speed sense(vss) wire, a reverse wire, and a gyro to tell you where you are at. The reverse wire is necessary.

Hi, thanks a lot for your help mate! But just one last question, what is a gyro? I had been doing some research and came across this term (gyroscopic sensor) but have no idea what this is! Is this a wire or built in to the system?
