ok, I found a Gentex rearview mirror at the junk yard today model gntx-221. I have done some searching and can not find any definitive information on it. what are the features of this particular model? I have read that it is auto dimming, map lights, compass, temp, reverse sensing, door controled lights. this little tidbit here https://www.frontiernet.net/~kevink7/HVC/SSCompTempMirror.doc states that the 221 does all of those features, but other discussions that I have found while searching says that it does not do the temperature?
if I look at the display I can see that there are C and F on the LCD (or whatever kind) screen that are not lit up but are present. I know that they may have used the same display between models that have the temp feature and ones that do not so it is not definitive that it does have this feature. it had a 3 wire wiring harness in it (power, ground and switched power).
I want to know if I get a temp probe and another wiring harness can I plug it in and wire it up and have all the features work?
the mirror has 3 buttons on the face, auto dim on/off, L and R map light buttons. if you hold down the auto dim on/off the compass display will turn off.
also is there any way to get a users manual on this mirror?
