When installing monitors, where should the power and ground come from? Straight to the battery or existing power and ground from the cd deck?

It can come from the fuse block or straight from the ignition switch. The ground should be a ground point somewhere near the unit.

quick question about this..

i have an lcd, lilliput with a car cig power adapter. Also, i have a new pioneer mp3 deck installed.

Is it ok for me to wire the power cable from the ignition switch to the car cig power adapter (so its regulated) and the ground cable on the car cig adapter to soemwhere by my monitor, chassis of car?

thanks so much!
this wiring thing is scary for us newbies!! hehe..

while i'm at asking, is it feasible to remove my factory lcd clock (have a honda accord 2002 4dr) and somehow be able to use the power it take and use it for something like a light or even my lcd (requires only 9watts to run)??

later

Here's what i was thinking of...

I'm pretty new to this whole electrical and wiring thing so bear with me... :-)

The red is what i'm adding on..

I guess my main concerns are about wiring the 3port cigarette adapter directly to the battery and if i wil blow stuff or not.. but the inline fuse should prevent that..

another thing is wiring the lcd to the ignition wire, i assume this is the same one on my deck/wiring harness? would i wire the lcd directly to the unit or can i wire it to the car power adapter?

again thanks.. below is what i'm trying to do..
