the way to bypass it is to install a rocker switch that simulates the actions of the e-brake.

I did mine using one of those hood switches for alarms. You hook the outer part to ground, the end tab to the stereo parking brake lead, and the foot brake lead to the foot brake. Then just hit the brake and press the button tiwce, and you have video. Email me for any questions. I also saw a electronic video bypass on ebay.

paring brake- to revese wire this acts just like a parking brake but you passs revese everytime you go into drive its its automatc.

leave your foot brake connected to that as you need to hit this to shift gears in an auto matic onece you release the brake after shifting past revese your video wil turn on .

works on the  ivad300 ad 801 dont know ablut older model but it should.

Here's what you do.  Connect the foot brake wire to the foot brake.  Ground the park brake and connect a toggle switch in line to it.    To cycle the unit, press and hold the footbrake, cycle the toggle on then off, now release the foot brake.   With this set up, you can still display the warning message by hitting the toggle switch if needed.  Cops will want to see this message if you are pulled over.

yea you could do all of that and when you slam into the back of a car or run someone over you can sit there and see yourself on the tv show cops.

I agree, and if you read my first post, it contains a recent article on that subject.  Some people will only learn the hard way.

Guys, a much easier way is the Pacific Accessory Co. Model TR-7. It's a prewired bypass that works with ALL Alpine screens. We're an Alpine dealer.

Use the search button. Do you really think that you are the first, or the last, to ask this damn question?
