i just got a 7in standalone monitor. i tired powering it by connecting it through the cigarette lighter. the power light on the monitor goes on but not the screen. Any suggestions?

What is your input signal? Is that powered properly. Do you have a remote? Can you use the remote to access the OSD? Does your cig lighter put out 12VDC?

some monitors require an input signal before the screen will come on..make sure you have the input hooked up and turned on.
