I just picked up a pair of Farenheit 7" LCD's to install in the back seat of my car for my kids.  I temporarily hooked one of them up using a 12v computer power supply to make sure they work before installing them in my car.  I noticed that the picture was very dark and grainy.  I tried both a DVD and VHS tape.  The color was very washed out and there were shadows under the titles.

Is this normal for these low end monitors?  They claim that the resolution is 1440x234.  I just thought the picture would be a little brighter/clearer.  Does anyone have any experience with these monitors?

Thanks,

Nick

I had the same problem with last year's model PA 7" Monitor. Even in pitch black with the settings for brightness and contrast adjusted properly, I still could not get a decent quality image out. I tried DVD and N64 for testing. Also, the viewing angle was very small.

I returned it and started getting Starvision from my distributor. Much better quality.

Sorry for the bad news, but atleast it's hands on experience. PM me if you are interested in Starvision (www.starvision.us).
