Hi I just got a rearview camera for my jeep and I wanted need some help with wiring it up. It has a power/ground plug. I know how to wire it up to power on when I put the vehicle in reverse, but how would I wire it up to a switch also? Would I have to diode isolate the 2 power wires so there isn't any feedback onto the reverse wire when I turn on the switch?

Use a relay...

86- 12v constant

85- to ground through a switch

30-to camera

87-12v constant

87a-to reverse light

this way when youback up the reverse will activate the camera, and when you want to manually use it, it will diconnect the reverse wire circuit.
