I was installing my IVA-W200 this evening and it seems to work but I must have hooked up to the wrong wire. I used the diagram for a 04 GTI. I have a 2003 GTI with a manual transmission. I think the Foot Brake Lead wire was right (RED / black) because if i mash it a few times the dvd player beeps and says "Video Turned off for your safety" The car is not in motion it doesnt seem to register that the parking brake is on perhaps i have the wrong wiring? I wired it to (BROWN / yellow). Both connections are above the footrest under the steering wheel. This is my first DVD installation ive done complete rewiring/subs/speaker installs and so many cd/mp3 installs but this video thing seems a bit more complicated since there doesnt seem to be specific information where to wire up the wires =/

I can hear the movies playing they sound fantastic just no video. I just see the tracks playing on the alpine the screen works its just not playing the movies. Any assistance would be great thank you.

BROWN / yellow  (-) is the correct color for the parking brake wire. RED / black (+) is the correct color for the foot brake wire. Both wires are neccessary to be hooked up to you Alpine and have to be applied in sequence to watch video each time you turn your car on. Press foot brake, then apply parking brake, then release foot brake. Video should be on if you wired the Alpine properly.  Or you can CHEAT and simply purchase a part made by PAC called TR-7. These are made specifically for this problem and will allow you to watch while driving
