I remember when I first came here over 20 years ago, there may have been a dozen new posts a day in the popular forums. Now it's more like just a few every MONTH. So is this field just shrinking, or have people moved on to other media?

I believe it is a changing dynamics of the vehicles today. A lot of todays vehicle have remote starters from the factory. Granted, they are not as well featured as the after market systems, Viper, Python, Clifford, Compustar, ect. I use to install 2-3 a week as a part time side gig. But with people moving out of those older autos and into newer ones with factory remote start, the need for after market started to shrink. My wife just got a new Chevy Equinox. There is a MyChevorlet app to download. Connects with her car. It has a remote start feature, Lock, Unlock, good for 8 years. Just my thoughts

I agree with Smokeman, I just had a conversion yesterday about our remote start numbers being way down. Most cars have remote starts on them and older people with money have houses with garages.
