Need ideas on how to improve on my factory sound system. I would like to keep the conveniences of the factory (i.e. Steering Wheel radio controls, 6 Disc in dash changer, etc.) I know this is a vague question but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

HI buttanutus, If you plan to keep the factory head unit and cd changer, you can use a line level converter to obtain a signal to run to processors, crossovers, and/or amplifiers. https://peripheralelectronics.com/periph_products/line_output_convert.htm

If you plan to change the head unit, you can use a PESW12 from Periperhal to maintain the steering wheel controls. https://peripheralelectronics.com/periph_products/steering_interface.htm

There are several prefabricated enclosures specifically designed for your vehicle to choose from if you don't want to build a custom enclosure.  You can view some of them here: https://www.proboxrocks.com/chevy/index.shtml

At minimum I'd recommend running at least one woofer and a decent set of separates up front with an amplifier on each for starters. What ever you add, keep it expandable and as far as selecting components, choose what you like best.
