I got some DAP Weldwood Landau Top cement from the local auto trim store. I seem to be having trouble with it though. I am brushing it on instead of spraying. Like some have said, i let the cemetnt dry on the vinyl and the peoject for 4-6 hours. When I let it sit that long, itdoensnt seem to want to stick too well. This is using a 1 coat application. do I need 2 coats of contact cement for this to work? how long should I let this stuff cure after upholstering?

That's a new one for me.
You should apply it in thin coats on both areas to be bonded, then flash for as long as it takes for it to be slightly tacky, but not stick to your hand, then bond them together. This time will vary based on humidity, temperature, contaminants, porosity, light exposure, etc. So there is no definite time for sitting it. It's a matter of just checking and going from there.
As for the second question, it'll vary again. I'm not 100% familiar with this particular cement, but it should be on the can itself. Some cements, don't really need a cure time even. Sorry I couldn't be much help on this question.

Maybe 10-15 minutes max,,,like said above it will depend on temp, humidity and so on,,,whoever said 4-6 hours gave you bad advice,,,

i thought so; i posted on another site and they said the same range as u did...i also looked at the Weldwood tech sheet. thanks for the confirmation

you should be able to do another thin coat, let it sit for 10-15 min and place the material...it should stick....
