This may seem odd but this is what I would like to do with my third brake light. I want to run a switch and a flasher to it, and hook it up so when I flip the switch, the third brake light (led brake light) flashes like a turn signal would. Only I would like it to flash as fast a possible. What type of flasher should I use?

I would also like to protect the original wiring of the brake lights, by adding a diode. Which one?

Thanks,
Dan

you need an electronic flasher, not a thermal. heres the problem.......led's dont draw enough current to activate a flasher without a normal bulb also, so.......you need an led flasher. grote makes them and you can pick one up at any truck(18 wheeler) dealer or truck parts store or also at a CARQUEST parts store.
