ive done quite a few set of strobes in headlights and taillights. the only problem i run into and which a real time killer is when you drill the 1" hole how does everyone clean out the houseing of all the plastic shavings. it takes me forever and sometimes still have particles leftover. i tried everything. using a shop vac while drilling ,, shopvac and air compressor.
any hits u might have

is there any way to try and spilt the headlight open? iknow most ef em are sealed pretty good from the factory but maybe just a diffterent was to look at it.. what year/model vehicle?

yeah that is a pain then u have the chance of it not sealing right. its for all veh. i do few and its just annoying wasting so much time trying to clean out the lense. thought someone had a trick in doing it. i actually drill and vacume at the same time. kinda works but still leves pices in there

I used a unibit. Push hard and turn at a very low rpm.
The idea was to open the hole by shaving off one long continuos curly. Sometimes turning by hand while holding the curly with the other.

I would just take a piece of duct tape and put it over the drill spot.

I would attach a 1/2 inch flexible hose to the vacuum cleaner, turn the headlight to get all the trash in one area and navigate the hose to that corner.

Take your shop vac and gorilla tape a 3/4" piece of clear tube to it. it should pull most of it out. I would the rinse out the headlight with a hose afterwards and allow to dry fully before installing the strobe and resealing it.

Hi!
This is the way i do it. I use my soldering station with a fine blade to cut lexan, acrilyc, PVC or other plastic. It make dustfree and flakefree opening. But you will need VENTILATING the area where you working A LOT!!! And don't forget to cut upside down for dripping melt plastic don't fell in and also the part you're cutting.

I drilled my headlights to put strobes and just used a small piece of wire hanger to get the larger pieces out and then shook the little pieces out, guess it depends on the headlight huh ------------- Mastermindz
