I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V and i installed another reciever in to the stock position, and in the wiring harness are two orange wires i didnt think would be necessary for the new reciever... the wires are the dimmer wire and something else...i cant remember right now... but i cut both wires and taped them off to forget about them because who needs to dim the stock in dash lights in a new reciver... so my new reciever worked and yet when i turned on my headlights my in dash lights got a little dimmer and dimmer till they went totally black....and at which point i knew i fried something. so i took out the dimmer switch and it was burnt....but only on the black of the three different wires. so i got a new dimmer switch and i want to put it in but im afraid that it will only do it again. I was wondering if anyone knew where exactly that dimmer switch was run from, and to? cause whatever it was going to...its currents were obviously misguided and it caused it to fry. I was also wondering if any one knows where to get a whole wiring book so i can see where the wires in my car went and where they lead?

Ran into the same problem on a caprice before, the culprit was an overload of juice due to the wires not being connected. Does your new reciver have a dash light input? that isnt supposed to be 12v acc.... try hooking up those wires again and see if it doesent correct your problem
