Can anyone give me a link to a subwoffer sizing guide or someting along those lines?
you're gonna have to be a little more specific as to what you're looking for.
if you're trying to find the right enclosure for your subs then you should check the specs of the subs with the manufacturer
I am looking for a basic overview of all company subs with the smallest being 6" the biggest being 15"
Go to JL audio on the web.......
Dowld all the PDF's associated with all their subwoofers.......
Read the PDF's and write down all the enlcosure sizes for both sealed and ported.......
Now go to all the other manufacturers and do the same thing.........
Put that info into Microsoft Excel........
Plot the graph......
same reason I buy all the car books and magazines,so I have all the information on hand when
I need it
I see. A better way to go about it IMO would be.
1- The vehicle being used. This is going to let us/yourself know the amount of space and type of layout that is going to suit a sub in question. Narrowing out what will fit properly size wise.
2- Budget. With a price point you can then narrow out more expensive or cheaper quality brands/manufactures.
3- Overall goal. This will narrow your selections even further. Are you looking to build a SQ system, SPL comp vehicle,... Something in between?
Once you have that figured out, seek out the help of the community you have here. There is a wide variety of knowable installers and audiophiles here. We can help guide you in a direction that fits The 3 most important criteria's I pointed out above. Then you can have a much narrower and less extensive list to compile and make a decision on. Saving you A LOT of head aches.
