Alright, here's my issue. I have a Pioneer DEH-6000 CD reciever that, when pushed hard for a few minutes, gets extremely hot to the touch. The back of the reciever gets so hot, it will literally leave burn marks if you leave a finger on it. Even the disc is hot when it's ejected.

It's wired correctly, using an aftermarket wiring harness (I've had it checked by a professional). The only out-of-the-ordinary aspect of the wiring is the fact that the remote turn-on lead going out to the amplifier is connected to two amps, & an EQ. Is there any way possible this could cause the overheating? Would connecting a relay to it fix the problem? Thanx in advance.

You might want to talk to Pioneer and ask them if it’s normal for the unit to get that hot. A remote wire running the 2 AMP’s and an EQ won’t cause the head to get hot. You don’t need a relay at this time, but if you add any more devices then install a relay
