Ok, so you have premium sound system and want to put in an Aftermarket Stereo, well I did 2. I have been looking all over the place for all kinds of GM stereo Harnesses and adaptors that would make this possible. Guess what? All you need is the regular GM wiring harness which you can get at wal-mart for 9bucks. This harness has a blue wire that is used for  your power antenna(if you have one). Look closely at the factory harness, you'll see a pink wire. This is the one that is used to turn on the damn amp. I was screwing around with the harness and I hit the jackpot. All you have to do is pull out the blue and possition it with the pink. All the speakers fire up and the sound is nice. Now you can go ahead and add amps using your preamp(s) on you aftermarket.

You hit the nail right on the head . Had the same problem . Hooked up remote amp lead wire (usually blue) to the factory harness pink wire. This powers the factory amp to drive the two subwoofers located next to the rear seat. Sounds good. Thanks
