I have just taken delivery of a 2002 Passat and now comes the job of moving my after-market stuff from my old car to the new. This will involve removing the stock CD/Monsoon/cassette equipment and replacing them with my Pioneer Premier DEX-P1R head. Now I've read a few vague warnings about Passat wiring, and had a service tech at VW state that there are other electronic issues at stake when replacing the stock stereo. If someone here has specific info about theses issues, I'd be most appreciative of any help/tips/advise. Also, is there a faceplate adapter yet? Is there a wiring harness yet? Many thanks in advance!

Hi Jay, Metra shows kits (98-9008 or 99-9123 or 89-09-9902) and a harness (70-1784) for a 2001-2002 Passat.
