i recently purchased a 450t on fleabay, i received it today and was reading through the install guid and seen that i have to press the aux channel button the number of times corresponding to the channel im looking to activate, that is like old age technology, my question is , is there a dei channel expander that i can get that will use independent buttons for each channel, i was told to get a 450r , but couldnt find one all i could find was the 450t, btw this is bein used on a viper 350hv, which the 2 channels it has is being used to pop my doors open, i wanted to add windows up and down, open and close my bed cover, and have extras for later if i add anything, i checked dei's website and cant find anything, since they have changed their login ways i cant get on anymore...also i was told i can get a 4 button remote to go with my alarm and i could use the expander to do what i wanted but like i said this isnt the type of module i was expecting....any info is greatly appreciated....thanx in advance...l8r

the easiest way honestly install a new alarm system,,,kinda sucks but thats your best bet, the 450r is hard to come by since they dont make it any more. and if you go the way of getting the 4ch remote. well you still are stuck....get a new system, make sure there is enough channels, the one mile sst python, or the viper works well. you can expand all the channels, you can get the channels for all your functions with one of these. i ran into one of these situations about two months ago same thing youre going through, i was breaking my head runnin around.

Of course you could use latching relays to double your channel outputs thus two functions when alarm on and two when off but really the above idea is better.
