Hey everyone.
I'm wanting to install a aftermarket lock actuator in my tailgate (already installed and wires ran to the dkp).
What I'm need to know is, can I wire directly to the door lock wires, or do I need to use relays, in a specific relay setup? I'm going to be using a axxess axutr, to only lock the tailgate when remote lock button is pressed twice.
Thanks everyone!

If you're asking about whether you need relays for the inputs, you don't.
Looking at the manual of the Access piece, your outputs are only rated at 150mA, so definitely use relays: https://metra-static.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/INSTAXUTR_web.pdf

Actually what I need to know has nothing to do with the universal trigger module. I want to know since I'm not running a alarm with triggers, instead would be using the existing lock and unlock wires, how do I go about wiring relays, that way whether I use my key fob or the lock/unlock switch, I can lock/unlock a universal actuator I've installed on my tailgate.
I hope I've explained better, as what I want to do.
Thanks for your help (lee.lopez)

I don't see lock or unlock detect wires available on this truck (so using your key won't work), so you'd need to connect to the door lock actuator wire(s) that gets power when locked. For the driver's door this should be tan/light green. If you can locate this wire in the harness that runs into the door, you might be able to connect it inside the cabin instead of running a wire directly into the door.
You wouldn't have to use the key fob, this would also work with the switches in the door, just not the key in the door.
