Hi Alll.
I just bought a starter with keyless entry "Prestige"....and i like to install it on 1995 Nissan Pathfinder which has the built-in security with keyless entry remote...but the remote is busted (so I can't use it) and i just bought a starter with keyless entry...How do i by pass the built-in security alarm that comes with the vehical?...Please help!
You can go to this link for the wire colors that you will need to connect the Prestige to:https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1995&make=Nissan&model=Pathfinder&ID=18554&type=Alarm
All you need to do is to match the wire colors from the Prestige wiring diagram to the wiring diagram from the link above.
*** According to my notes there is no factory security system. Most Pathfinders have a factory keyless entry remote and module but no security module. ***

If I don't use the remote to open the door, (which I don't have) the horn will go off...there is a security feature I guess you can turn it on or off....When i install the "Prestige" Do I have to bypass factory keyless remote module? or Can I just match my Prestige wiring to the vehical wiring....
Thankyou so much
You can tap into the factory keyless entry/security module with the Prestige. Have you tried looking underneath the Nissan to see if there was an aftermarket security system added ? Trying to figure out why you would have a security system ? Did you buy this truck new ?

I just bought the truck, it's 1995 Pathfinder....the way it looks, i don't think it's aftermarket...I think the factory remote keyless entry and security are in the same module. I didn't look for aftermarket alarm. If I can tap into the factory keyless entry, do you think the alarm function normal...cuz all it is doing is hunking the horn when someone try open the door without the keyless entry remote.
Thank you for your help Jeff
What you can do is unplug the factory keyless entry module ( which should also be the factory security module ( but test to be sure ). If it is the same then mark all the wires that you need to tap into on the wiring harness and test the wires to ensure circuit verification.
The reason I asked you about the aftermarket security is because there is a company that I deal with that has a remote control that is the same as the factory Nissan remote controls. Let me know how you make out with the above.
