Hello, First of all, this site is great. It's helped me a lot. Anyway, I would like to know how to make the (-) aux channel on my alarm turn on and off my radio, preferably by pressing the same button, if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

You will need a relay to switch that negative to a positive to turn your radio on. pin 85 will be that negativeaux input, pin 86,87 will both get 12 volts positive, and then pin 30 will go to your radios switched ignition lead. Now you may want to add a diode on the ignition lead of the radio that way no voltage goes on the car ignition wire while the radio is switched on with the remote. Now check in your alarms manual if you have and see what the options are for that aux output. And change to whatever you want the remote to do (latched with ignition or whatever that alarm offers) Any questions post back.

I really appreciate it mobile. Perhaps you can help me with one more thing. I own a sidewinder 500esp. It doesn't mention anything about changing the remote to latched or anything like that. Any suggestions?

I thought it was a sidewinder but it may be a viper. Is there much difference between the two?

if your aux button supports the option for latched output, you can use that for on/off of the radio, connecting the ignition lead through a relay to that trigger. push aux button, latched switch to on, triggrs relay, sends +12V to ignition/accessory wire of stereo, powers on radio. push again, kills accessory lead, radio turns off.

i asked someone if you could setup a latch system off of one channel output of a remote, like if the system were on already the input would be interpreted as an off command and vice versa, they said it either couldn't be done or would be hard, i can't remember, is this true?
