amp working without ground?

How long are the screws you used to screw it to the MDF?

I always thought the case of most amps was grounded?

I would really hope from all the comments that you have disconnected this amp.   I have seen something similar to this before and the amp was grounding through the Remote wire back to the deck.
In the end of it all, caused damage to the amp, deck, and some pretty bad burns in the carpet!

should i run a new remote wire for doodies and giggles? Or is it the amp most likely

I think the conclusion is that the amp is toast.
