i ran the mofo's for a few years.  of course i got them for dirt cheap from my previous employer.  they are a decent low budget sub.  they certainly got the job done for what i was looking for.  just make sure that u dont over power them and u will be fine.
if at first u dont succeed........ lower ur standards

if you want an awesome enclosure contact Pete Kulicki over at www.hexibase.com
He hit over 149db in his CRX with two 8 inch subwoofers in an spl box and over 146db with two 8 inch subs with a daily box.

CRX? Competition?   Gte ya some kicker L7's and I can shoot you a basic box design to do over 150 out the gate.    I have worked with alot of kicker products in both first and second gen CRX's   10's or 12's    stay away from the 15 L7's

The L7's love a small box in a crx.   We have ran L7's in both our CRX's for the last year years of Compeition.
It all depends on what type of competition your going for.   If just a pure tone, they will take 2000-3000 WRMS for a burst. If running a 30 second avearage it is best to stay around 1000-1250 per sub.
Weight wise they are not that bad, if I had to guess My 4 12 box loaded with subs was probably close to 60 pounds.
I will say this, some guys I have ran with in the past complained when having 4+ subs 4+ batts and 2-3 amps all in the back of the crx and taking a trip......Thus I swapped the motor in mine.   6 12's 8 batts 4 amps....slow down going up hill? I dont think so.
