I have an 02 Civic 5-speed and I just purchased an Audiovox Prestige alarm/remote start package.
In the manual for the alarm, it states that to install the alarm you MUST HAVE a automatic trans, a tach connection, and one other thing to do the install.
However, I purchased the unit to only use the alarm and its features. Can I hook the guy up without hooking the ignition connections and just forget about using the remote start feature? I really don't need/want to use it.
If I can do this, what exactly do I need to not connect with the unit besides the ignition connections? I believe its the APS997 model.
