The funny thing about protecting a motorcycle is that it's easily carted away.  No matter what you decide to put on the thing for security, whether it's a proximity key, starter kill, fuel pump shut off, etc, etc, someone can easily reverse the 'curse.'  My customers always ask what they can do to protect their bike, and I have to explain that, no matter what you do, it's very limited protection.  The best thing is to add a low-jack or GPS tracking.  I'm not saying, don't add an alarm, but don't try to beat yourself up searching for that one magical device that eliminates the chance someone will walk off with it.
