I have a 1996 mustang with the mach system. Just single din headunit.

Here it is:

One morning I went out to unlock my car with the remote as I usually do and it didn't work. So I unlocked the door with my key and the power locks wouldn't unlock. Come to figure they would only lock with the car running and when I would push the unlock my dash lights would come on for as long as I had the unlock held down. And around the same time my dome light quit, so maybe anti-theft??? I have no clue. Checked all the fuses with a test light and nothing is wrong. About a month ago I was going to install my radio and the person that had this car before me cut the stock harness for the speakers but at least the harness for all the power wires and ground and stuff is all there. Come to figure they bought the wrong wiring harness, they didn't buy the one for the mach system just the regular one. So I hooked my cd player up and it was working until I hooked up my amp. When I put my power wire on the battery and grounded my amp I turned on the cd player and BAM everything just quit. Then I was like crap. I tried to hook up the old one and accidentaly touched the cages together and it sparked and nothing worked at all. I was checking fuses and my number 13 is bad. Not just the fuse but the whole fuse socket!! Please I really need help.

Sound like you have a major ground issue. I would have to venture a guess that somewhere in the car is a wire that is grounding out to the chasis and it would case issues. The 96 Stang did not have that much of a computer over the normal engine stuff, so I would say that nothing more than a gound issue.

Would that cause my fuse socket not to work also?
