Hello,

i drive a Lincoln LS with an aftermarket Clarion 7in DVD player (MAX675VD) that i installed myself. It has worked fine for about 7 months now but all the sudden theres a strange popping sound from the passenger rear speaker. It pops whenver i change the station or switch between sources. I havent added anything recently and cant figure out why its doing it. any ideas??? thanks, kevin

The factory amp is doing that. You need to change the turn on lead from 12 to 5 volts either use a resistor or a voltage regulator.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.

Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

I didnt even know my car had a factory amp? do you know where its at? and where would i put a resistor? thanks

the factory amp in most fords is usually in the passenger side of the trunk behind the carpet but i have never delt with an LS it may be under the rear deck or behind the passenger kick pannel but as far as the resister you can put it in line of the remote wire. you can also get a voltage regulator for those cars. at the circuit city where i work we have a bunch of them just sittin in a crate that are out of the system they are about a dollar so you might want to go to your circuit city and see if they have any.
