Around christmas time i installed 3 Hornet 564Ts into a friends family member's cars. I also installed a Python 791xv equivalent into his own personal car(and another friend installed the same unit into his brothers car) Both python units are working fine for the past 6 months but all 3 hornet installs are having issues with the remote/antenna The units are not responding to any of the remotes unless the remotes are placed up against the windshield by the antenna(both the lcd and nonlcd) Normally i would just chock it up to a bad antenna but all 3?? that doesn't make any sense to me. I know its not my install as this is the first time i've ever had an issue like this and the fact that its on 3 different vehicles. Do these units have a common problem of the antenna /wire/remotes going bad or maybe DEI just put out a bad batch and i got 3 of them. Any insight would be great!

Have you replaced the batteries in the Hornet remotes yet? 2-way remotes suck the juice out of them in no time.

how did that turn out I installed one in my wifes jeep and It doing the same thing its a avitel 4400 same as the 564t the remotes would stop working, I would re-learn they would work for a few days then I swaped out the remote same thing would happen, so I sent the brain and both remotes to d.e.i they sent me a whole new unit brand new saying there was something wrong with the one i sent them.   I put it in the other day just plunging the brain to to my install it worked fine for a few days then the remote stop working for like 2 days then started working again it works when it wants the alarm has always worked  fine she would disarm using the valet buttom, and I just saw this post Im going to swap out the antenna and wire from the new one d.e.i sent me, I was just wording how that went before i do this
