I need some help with a dual battery setup in a 99 Grand AM L4. I need to find an alt. that is bigger than the stock and I am having no luck. Then once I have that I am going to get two new identical batteries for the car. What else do I need to do besides wire them in parallel? Do I need to upgrade the wiring on the first battery under the hood? Can I use the 4ga that I have currently in the car for the amps?

Do I really need to go with a dual battery for my system anyway? I am running 2 amps with a draw of 60 amps, so I am sure that the 90 amp alt is not doing the job there.

i dont think you need a second battery unless you are going to listen to your radio with the car off for a long period of time. and two batteries is a pain because you have to buy two new ones because they must be likeness of charge and age. do the bige three and bigger battery and you should be good
