Please help working on 2002 avalanche, it is a redo from someone else. The problem I am having is that the second ignition wire which is white is showing constant 12 volts with no key in the ignition. Traced the wire and dont see any other wire attached to it to cause it to show constant 12 volts. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Crimestopper RS-900 and DEI 555L is in vehicle.

to test, unplug the main Ign wiring harness from crime stopper unit. If the 2nd ign still shows constant 12v, look for any other aftermarket device in the vehicle, ie sat radio, gps and unplug it. after that if you still have the power drain, you probably need a new main ign switch. happens all to often with gm in older vehicles, just diid 99 jimmy 189,000 kms, last month 1 2001 sunfire and 2000 cavailer both over 200,000kms. It happens......
