I am trying to install a CD changer in my father-in-law's 98 town car and am having trouble finding the constant 12v and acc power wires.  I searched the VWD on here and they said that the wires are pink/light blue for the constant, and yellow/black for the acc.  After pulling the factory head unit, I saw a pink wire with a blue stripe and a blue wire with a pink stripe...looks like speaker wires to me.  Also, there are no yellow/black wires.  Anyone else have this issue?  Anyone know the correct colors for these wires?  Thanks in advance!

Eric

Do you have a volt meter?  You are only trying to find a couple wires.

Unplug the harness from the back of the radio.  Then you will have only one that lights up when the key is on.  That will be your acc. wire.    Make sure the lights are off.  If they are on you will get 3 that light it up.

the harness was out and the lights were off...with the key off, we had one hot line.   with the key on, we had 3 hot lines.  i'm confuzzled!  the constant 12v line should be hot no matter if the key is on or not, right?  and the acc should only be hot with the key on, right?

That is correct.   I have no idea where the voltage is coming from on the third wire.

maybe the power antenna?  who knows...

I think I'm going to just have to bite the bullet and call the dealership to see if they can tell me the correct colors.

So, the dealership says they don't have anything that would tell them the colors of the wiring behind the dash!  I think I'm getting jerked around!
