Was there a factory harness in the car before you wired everything up? I don't know what the completely red wire is, maybe something aftermarket. The RED / black is illumination, and you don't need that unless its a nav unit really. You said your "not hearing any music"...is the radio turning on and looks like its playing but you just don't hear anything? If thats the case, then you might have a speaker thats grounding out.Try unplugging each speaker one at a time to test for this or test continuity if you have a DMM with this feature. Also make sure you have the power antenna wire hooked up, as this can give you some problems too, meaning your cd would play fine, just not the am/fm. Check these things and let me know. I'd be more than happy to help you further if needed. GL

Is it possible one spearker might be grounding out. Do you hear a pop at all when you turn your radio on.

i turn the car on.. and all i can do is press the eject button on the stereo. it opens up. i put the cd in and nothing. thats the only button that seems to work.
i have a Dual brand stereo.
&& before i wired it up yes there was a factory harness already.. i have the adapter and put that in today and still nothing.

sounds like you dont have any switched power. check for a blown fuse at the panel as well as the radio and or harness. Usually you can eject a cd from a head unit even if the vehicle is off.

in an aftermarket harness the switched or accessory wire is red. This needs to be connected
