I'm going to be doing a 2-way alram, remote start on a friends 2008 F-150 very soon and I have some questions. I've been reading through some old posts, and I thing I have most of the info I need.

The system is a Carvox, not sure of the model number at the moment. The truck is a barebones, base model v6. No power anything, not even a tape player (doing a full system also though).

The main thing I'm iffy on is the immobilizer. I've done 6 or 7 remote start systems, but I've never had to do a rs on a vehicle with one yet. Not sure what bypass to get; 555F or 555S or some other bypass?

I may have some other questions once I go through the install manual for the Carvox, but the immobilizer was the main issue. Thanks.

555F is a little older and probably wont work on your system. use the 555S or even the 555U and you'll be fine.’08 f150 alarm/remote starter - Last Post -- posted image.

What about the XK04? I found some pretty cheap on ebay, or do those only work with DEI units? Thanks for the info.

those work just as good as well. they have a few more wires to hook up, but it pretty straight forward. i actually like anything thats made by DEI because of its reliability

Thanks guys! I just want to make sure I have everything I need. I've got a busy weekend ahead of me: Alarm & RS, Double Din DVD HU, custom enclosure for 2 MB Quart 10's, amp install, full police strobe package.
