when using a data module i put a diode inline on the factory keysense wire... then i send my GWR to the anode side and the keysense wire from the bypass module to the cathode side... everything works as it should.... GWR shuts down the OEM alarm yet the data module doesnt see this... it only sees a ground when the key is actually slid into the ignition...

I would say as far as the original question - you only need a relay with a particularly weak GWR output when the car has both an alarm that disarms with keysense, and an immobilizer.
I agree with the other posters as far as the keysense drawing basically no current on Toyotas, but I could see it as a possibility if the remote start has to split the GWR between that and the bypass module. I once did an add-on remote start with a bypass and aftermarket alarm(all DEI product). In that case the alarm also needed the GWR to activate its sensor shunt, and the remote start couldn't do that and the bypass consistently.
