Hello everyone. I am new to the site. I currently have a 98 Ford Taurus that I use as my daily driver/beater. Well I want to install a remote start on it for the winter so I dont have to jump in a cold vehicle. Since it is my beater I dont wanna spend a whole lot of money on the remote start. Has anyone ever used a cheaper remote start system with any luck? I found this on ebay http://cgi./NEW-Long-Range-FM-Car-Alarm-Remote-Start-Keyless-Entry_W0QQitemZ230304195216QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230304195216&_trkparms=72%3A1234%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1308&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 I was wondering if anyone thought that this remote start would work with my vehicle? It does not have keyless entry in the car so I would not use the key less entry portion or the alarm system because I would not want it. I only want to use the remote start of this system. Thanks

does your key look like

or does it look like

if it looks like the first one, then you need a bypass to work with the PATS (Passive Anti-Theft Security) in the vehicle

Don't forget to power up all required accessory circuits in the ignition harness or the fan will never turn on during R/S. Use relays!!
