Hi, i just purchase a 97 honda prelude and there a alarm already installed. the dealership didnt have the remote control for it, but offered to remove it. I wanted to get a replacement remote rather than remove it. All I know is that it a Clifford G4 alarm from the window sticker. Is there something I can look at to see what model it is so i can get a replacement one? Any help would be appreciated.

IF it's a G4, any remote will do it. Quick trick if the red LED is staying on you are in valet mode. Turn on ignition, find alarm's valet switch, press the * side of switch twice then the plain side once. If LED is not on, this should reverse, the light will flash once, keep holding the * side for 3 secs and the siren will chirp. Press  plain button once, there will be a chirp after 3 secs, press * button once immediate chirp then press padlock button on new remote, 1 chirp, press again, 2 chirps. Suggest downloading or obtaining an owners manual to go with the new remote. Incidentally if the above doesn't work, then the valet code has been changed and you will need a dealer with the Wizard software.
