I installed an overhead monitor in my '07 Avalanche this weekend and the stupid domelight is giving me fits. It is the JVC KV-MR9010 which uses LED's and I believe the dome light is operated by the BCM.

When I open the doors the OEM front maplight comes on and the rear monitor light goes off, then when I close the doors the map light goes dim to off and the monitor LED's turn on? The wiring is right but I'm still confused. I'm thinking the logic in the KV-MR9010 is looking for a pin switch and it is getting a BCM signal instead. Has anyone encountered this before? I've searched the best I could but no resolve.........

Sounds like the screen is looking for a negative signal to turn the lights on, and the chevy trucks give a positive output, as well do not tie into any wires except the dome trigger wire at the light or you will end up with a truck with a deak battery.
