Have a good friend who just picked up a G6, He called and asked me to do a Remote Start/Keyless in it. Ive heard from a few people around there that they are a PITA...Ive been doing Remote Starts for 5-6 Years now but havent actually gotten my hands on any GM 2007+ How are these to do?

with the right bypass module, its not bad at all. Most of the connections are in the passenger side of the center console. Ignition switch wires a lil tight but not impossible. Hope that helps!

It looks like I only need to use the XK06 with PKG7 Firmware?? Do I need to do anything special for the start sequence to work properly? Im using and Audiovox APS-57 which I believe does drop the ACC wire during crank so it should automatically work right? I want to do this asap if I can so please any help would be appreciated

IMPORTANT: There is no need to connect
the accessory output wire from the remote
starter to vehicle. The PKG7 will take care
of this function.
according to the manual which it does look like you have the right bypass, you dont need the accessory wire.

So Id only need to wire the Ignition wire to the car, will the Acc still power up once the start sequence is finished?

I am not a fan of XK bypasses. Do a search here and you will see a thousand threads of issues guys here are having getting them programmed. I have done a few G6's using the Idatalink bypass and it seems to work flawlessly, plus it will do a lot more for you like give locks, door and trunk triggers, trunk release, RAP shutdown, even a tach wire.

To be fair they have been around a lot longer as well. iData will have their thousand threads as well in time..
For the original poster this is a very simple vehicle. Go with the XK06 PKG7 and you'll be golden. Don't waste your time at the pass side of the center console either. Grab everything in the main harness in the drivers kick panel. The only thing you run anywhere else is the ignition wire and the bypass wiring. Well hood and tach if you feel like hooking those up. Good luck.

Well I use all Bypasskits units and have yet to have any issues with them, some of them are harder to program but it just takes and extra few mins til its right...I have both the XK06 and the PKUGM2X which is the transponder bypass as well...Im assuming the XK06 is probably a little easier, so just wire the bypass no need for ACC and only IGN to the ignition harness? Sounds like its a little easier than I thought
